What is my mother to yours?

what kin is my father to yours anyway?

And how did you and I ever meet?

But in love our hearts are as red

earth and pouring rain:

mingled beyond parting.

This strange thing called love

This strange thing we call love
Of roses and stars and little white doves;
Painted black and white and everything in between
Every hue that colors the dreams of sweet sixteen;

When fluttering lashes and eyes that beguile
meet thudding hearts and bashful smiles,
Unbidden flow,
my hidden tears and lyrical words,
withering in your stormy moods;

Each speak a tale that is its very own,
Etched eternal in hearts that are sworn
to the magic, the mystery, the miracle of the moment!

Look closely and you will find,
buried in the stones, perhaps left far behind;
A lonely sea shell, opening its heart to you
Singing sweet songs just for you!

Kya ek ladka aur ek ladki sirf dost reh sakte hain?

From Maine Pyar Kiya...

Yeh to ek bahana hai, tadapti raaton main bhadakti jismon ki dhadakhti aag ko bujhaane ka...

Isn't this but an excuse?
To quench the throbbing fires
of passionate bodies during
trembling nights?

Not that I agree with the sentiments expressed but wanted to translate it just the same, although k didn't like the original line or the translation :p

Love

Love Sonnet XVII

by Pablo Neruda

I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving
but this, in which there is no I or you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so close that when you close your eyes, I fall asleep.

An attempt at poetry. My lonely lass.

Lonely lass, what makes you sigh?
Why, oh why, did your fervour die?
I look in your melancholy eyes,
and see that your heart cries...

Lonely lass, pray tell me why,
calm the oceans lie?
In your troubled sight,
is lost, the artist's delight...

Lonely lass, with tresses so soft,
Gone is the wind that makes you daft,
Where lies hiding the mirth in your step?
Who dares leave you oh so bereft?

Lonely lass, do you not see?
A poet's fancy, A lover's mercy?
A hint of your smile,
and spent is my guile...

Lonely lass, don't make me cry,
Why, oh why so heavy a sigh?
Lonely lass, oh song in my heart,
please do smile and make my sorrow part!
